Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Ich habe bisher noch keine Erfahrungen mit Erzählungen gemacht und deshalb war ich auch sehr neugierig auf dieses ebook, besonders auch weil ich nach einem Haufen Jugendbüchern endlich einmal wieder ein etwas ‚deftigeres‘ Buch lesen wollte, das auch Erotikelemente enthält.

Zuerst möchte ich mit den Dingen beginnen, die mir gleich als erstes aufgefallen sind und mich etwas gestört haben. Zu einem war die Sprache zwar sehr bildhaft dargestellt und auch flüssig und schnell zu lesen. Aber es waren doch sehr kurze einfache Sätze, welche für mich nicht ganz gepasst haben, wenn man bedenkt, dass diese Erzählung speziell für Erwachsene geschrieben wurde. Außerdem sind mir ein paar kleine Fehler aufgefallen, über die ich zwar hinweggesehen habe, weil es ein self-published Buch ist und bei dem daher wahrscheinlich kein Lektor darüber gesehen hat, aber ich wollte es trotzdem erwähnen. Und mir sind auch hin und wieder Wortwiederholungen aufgefallen, welche in ‚richtigen‘ Büchern sonst nicht vorkommen. Ich denke aber trotzdem, dass dies nur Kleinigkeiten sind und leicht auszumerzen wären, wenn es von einem Verlag stammen würde und es mehr Leute zum Korrekturlesen bekommen hätten.

Zu Beginn war es etwas langatmig bzw. auch verwirrend und man wurde quasi direkt in die Geschichte geschubst ohne Ahnung zu haben, um was es hier eigentlich geht. Was mir an dieser Stelle aber außerordentlich gut gefallen hat, war wie das Kleinstadtleben beschrieben wurde, mit den schiefen Blicken, dem  Getuschel und den Verbreitungen von Gerüchten. Für mich, und ich komme aus einem kleinen Dorf, war es perfekt getroffen und ich musste dabei wirklich schmunzeln. Sicher war es etwas überzogen dargestellt, aber noch im Rahmen und ich fand es daher sehr amüsant.

Was ich zu Anfang ebenso irritierend fand, war die Geschichte in der Geschichte, und später hat es mich gestört, weil ich viel lieber mehr über die Geschichte erfahren hätte, die Leon (der Autor in Buch) geschrieben hat. Die Idee ist zwar so gesehen ganz witzig, aber wenn man schon eine Erzählung liest, die gerade einmal 50 Seiten umfasst, möchte man nicht quasi zwei Geschichten präsentiert bekommen, weil dann bei beiden in der  Handlung nicht wirklich viel passiert und sie nicht weitergeführt werden kann. So war es auch bei den Erotikpassagen, von denen ich mir irgendwie mehr erhofft habe. Aber es stellte sich eher als langes Vorspiel heraus und wurde für meinen Geschmack dann zu abrupt und ohne richtigen Schluss beendet. So wie auch die gesamte Kurzgeschichte einfach zu Ende geführt wurde, bevor man noch richtig angefangen hat zu lesen.

Trotzdem war es alles in allem okay, es hat mich neugierig gemacht und war ein schnelles Lesen, das ich nicht von allen bisherigen Büchern sagen kann. Daher werde ich mir die Autorin auf alle Fälle merken und falls sie irgendwann ein komplettes Buch schreibt, mit Sicherheit wieder lesen.

Ich weiß, dass ich eigentlich keine neuen Bücher kaufen wollte, bevor mein SUB wieder verringert wurde, aber ich habe einige Vorbestellungen bekommen, die ich schon vor Monaten gemacht habe und außerdem ein paar gratis ebooks bekommen und da kann ich natürlich auch nicht ‚Nein‘ sagen. Einige von den Büchern habe ich aber dafür schon wieder gelesen, wie zb. ‚The Immortal Rules‘ und ‚Das Geheimnis der Flamingofrau‘, sowie lese ich zurzeit ‚City of Lost Souls‘..

I know that I actually wanted to buy no new books before I’ve reduced again my number of unread books, but I’ve got some advance orders which I’ve already made months ago and moreover I also got some free ebooks and there I couldn’t say ‘NO’ of course.
