Zu Beginn möchte ich sagen, dass dies eine Rezension zu einem re-read der Geschichte ist, aber ich sie gleich wie beim ersten Mal bewerten werde, da ich sie erstens liebe und es zweitens so einfach am passendsten finde. Ich finde es soo klasse, dass diese grandiose Geschichte nun endlich auch auf Deutsch in einem gesamten Buch angeboten wird und die Aufmachung ist wunderschön und schaut total schick im Regal aus! ♥
Wie zuvor, hat mir hat das Buch außerordentlich gut gefallen, obwohl ich befürchtet habe, enttäuscht zu werden, da dies bei mir oft zutrifft, wenn viele Leute von einem Buch schwärmen – doch hier hat es auch für mich gepasst und ich wurde ebenfalls verzaubert – und das schon zum zweiten Mal.^^ Auch meine anfängliche Skepsis, weil es wieder ein Vampir-Buch ist und ich schon viele davon hatte, konnte ich nach kurzer Zeit abschütteln. Besonders da die Vampirgeschichte hier komplett neu aufgerollt wird und gängige Klischees, die mit dem Vampirismus einhergehen, nicht stattgefunden haben, sondern sogar im Buch selber veralbert werden, wie das Trinken von Menschenblut oder die Angst vor Knoblauch. *ganz klasse* 😉
Mir gefällt es hier zum Beispiel vor allem sehr gut, dass die Vampire nicht menschliches Blut brauchen, um zu überleben und stark zu bleiben, sondern sie trinken von einem Vampir des anderen Geschlechts. *hehe* Viele gehen dazu sogar eine Bindung mit einem Vampir ein und bleiben dann auf längere Zeit nicht nur durch ihre Blutlust zusammen, sondern auch wegen ihrer anderen ‚Triebe’, welche sie mit einer eigenen Zeremonie offiziell machen können. Die weibliche Vampirin wird dann auch ‚Shellan’ genannt, was so etwas wie Ehefrau bedeutet und der männliche Part heißt ‚Hellren’, kurz auch ‚Hell’ genannt, wie die Hölle auf Englisch und meiner Meinung manchmal auch sehr passend. :p
Mir gefiel die Geschichte die im Hintergrund erzählt wurde und den jahrhundertelangen Krieg zwischen den Vampiren und den Seelenlosen Vampirjägern, den ‚Lessern’, erzählt. Leider konnte im ersten Buch noch nicht genau auf diese alte Fehde eingegangen werden oder auch nicht auf die Vampir-Gesellschaft, wie sie in Ward’s Buch leben, aber das hätte auch die Grenzen des Buches gesprengt und wird mit Sicherheit genauer in den vielen Folgebändern kommen. Außerdem war das Buch sehr flüssig und leicht zu lesen und es gab bezüglich Schreibweise überhaupt keine Probleme, sondern es wurde alles detailliert geschildert, um sich alles genauestens mit dem inneren Auge vorzustellen – wie in einem Film, wirklich ganz großes Kino. ❤
Und nun zu den Charakteren – den Glanzstücken in diesem Buch! Ich hätte es nicht für möglich gehalten, aber Ward hat wirklich ein Händchen dafür, trotz dieser vielen Charaktere, jeden eine eigene Persönlichkeit und einen individuellen Charakterzug zu verpassen, sodass sie ungeachtet ihrer etwas unüblichen Namen auseinander zu halten sind und trotz ihrer überlaufenden ‘Testosteron-ausschüttenden‘ Darstellung, doch auch Charisma, Charme und Humor beweisen. Über Beth und Wrath brauche ich wohl nicht viele Wörter zu verlieren, denn die beiden funktionieren einfach und sind zusammen ein unschlagbares Team.
Besonders Wrath hat mir mit seiner ‚harter Kerl’-Nummer und sich ständig fragend‚ wie er sich in einen halben Menschen verlieben kann’, sehr gut gefallen und mich des Öfteren zum Schmunzeln gebracht.
Auch Beth ist sympathisch, willensstark und lässt sich von niemanden etwas vorschreiben, egal wie viel Angst sie hat, und daher ist sie vielleicht ein etwas unnötiger Dickkopf, aber dafür auch mutig und selbstsicher.
Von den anderen Charakteren ist mir auch Rhage, auch Hollywood genannt, Butch, Vishous und Thor sehr positiv aufgefallen und bin schon sehr gespannt auf ihre Geschichten und Erzählungen. Was mich auch noch neugierig zurücklässt, nach dem ersten Teil, ist die Frage, was nun in Zukunft mit den Lessern, dem blinden König und auch Darius passieren wird.
Dieses Buch hat für mich zwar viele Fragen offen gelassen, aber ich mache mir keine Sorgen, sie bald in den nächsten Büchern beantworten zu bekommen und bleibe, nach dem Ende dieses Buches, mit einem wunderbaren Seufzer und sinnlichem Lächeln auf meinen Lippen zurück. Wirklich großartig!
EDIT: + Bonusmaterial: Hier habe ich mir ehrlich gesagt etwas mehr erwartet, aber im Prinzip war nur eine lange Leseprobe des nächsten Bandes darin, sowie ein Interview und die Kurz-Fakten zu Wrath. Hier hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass etwas Neues enthalten ist, das man als Fan der Reihe noch nicht gelesen hat. Außerdem kann ich mir vorstellen, dass gerade das Interview zwischen Wrath und Ward bei neuen Lesern für Verwirrung und Spoiler sorgt. Daher braucht man ehrlich gesagt, das Buch nicht extra für das Bonusmaterial kaufen, aber ich bin trotzdem froh, die Geschichte in einem schönem Sammelband zu haben. Schon alleine deswegen zahlt es sich für Fans der Reihe aus. ^^

Die englischen Cover sind für mich nicht besonders ansprechend. Daher bin ich froh, das Buch nun in diesem edlen, neuen Gewand bei mir im Regal zu haben. *hach*

Ein leidenschaftliches, spannendes Buch, das nicht nur als ‚feuchte Nachtlektüre’ angesehen werden kann, sondern neben dem Erotikteil auch durch eine intelligente und mitreißende Geschichte besticht, die charmant und witzig ist. Eine glatte Empfehlung von mir! An alle, die sie noch nicht gelesen haben – es wird Zeit dafür, also ab mit euch und holt euch die Bücher: am besten noch heute! 🙂 *Top*!

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Es war für mich schon lange nicht mehr so schwierig eine Rezension zu einem Black Dagger Buch zu schreiben. Aber dieses hier macht es mir wirklich, wirklich schwer. Ich wollte das Buch lieben, als ich es bereits im Oktober vorbestellt habe. Ich wollte es lieben, als ich es bekommen und auf den Buddy Read gewartet habe. Aber wie ihr vermuten könnt, hat meine Vorfreude gelitten, als ich dann tatsächlich zum Lesen begonnen habe.
Ward hat sich nämlich aus dem gewohnten, sicheren Terrain begeben und ihre Geschichte anders aufgebaut, sie mit neuen Charakteren erzählt, die die anderen vermissen ließen. Obwohl ich gleich von Anfang an sagen kann, dass es im Vergleich zu anderen Büchern immer noch sehr gut ist, aber im Vergleich zu den andere Black Daggern Büchern, etwas schwächelt – aber das ist Jammern auf hohem Niveau. ^^
Aber zurück zum Anfang und der Handlung dieses Buches, die nicht einfach so in einem Satz zusammenzufassen ist. Da es anders als sonst nicht nur ein Hauptpärchen gab, rund um welches die Hintergrundgeschichte weiter gegangen ist, sondern gleich mehrere. Und das ist auch mein erster Kritikpunkt – dass es zu viele verschiedene Handelsstränge hatte und diese Perspektiven immer relativ kurz waren, sodass man immer wieder neu aus dem Lesefluss gerissen wurde.
Eigentlich dachte ich ja, dass durch den Titel Beth und Wrath erneut das Hauptpärchen sind, was sie auch irgendwie waren, aber neben ihnen haben auch andere oft im Buch ihren Geschichte erzählt, wie Trez, iAm, Selena, Xcor, Layla oder sogar Sola und Assail – die eigentlich gar nicht zu den Black Daggern gehören und da frage ich mich, warum sie so einen großen Stellenwert im Buch bekommen.
Dieser Teil hat viel weniger über den Krieg zwischen den Vampiren und den Lessern erzählt, sondern viel mehr über die Politik des Vampirreiches und den Intrigen gegen den König, über das Hin und Her mit der Glymera und den Band of Bastards, obwohl diese im Hintergrund geblieben sind.
Wodurch wir auch schon zu meinem zweiten Kritikpunkt gekommen wären – dass viel zu viele neue Charaktere im Vordergrund standen und bis auf Wrath und Beth fast keiner der anderen Bruder der Brotherhood eine Rolle gespielt hat. Die erste Hälfte sind sie glaube ich, gar nicht erwähnt wurden, erst später waren sie dann doch auch anwesend, wenn auch nur kurz und da merkt man wieder wie viel witziger, charmanter, echter und einfach besser das Buch wird… und das alles nur durch die Anwesenheit durch die anderen Brothers. Hach, ich liebe sie alle, egal wen von der Brotherhood! (naja, bis auf Phury *g*)
Was ich aber gut fand, war erneut die generelle Atmosphäre im Buch, die ähnlich wie immer einfach grandios war. Die Erotikpassagen waren wie immer auch gut, obwohl ich mir hier ebenfalls weniger verschiedene Charaktere gewünscht hätte. Und das Ende war auch wieder genau nach meinem Geschmack – gefühlvoll und total übertrieben kitschig, aber damit habe ich ja kein Problem, wie vielleicht andere. ^^
Besonders witzig fand ich ja die Szene mit Lassiter als Elvis – er ist einfach göttlich *lach*
Wie immer war das Buch für mich trotz aller Kritik ein Page-Turner an dem ich fast drei Tage nur durchgelesen habe und nichts andere machen konnte/ wollte. Ward hat einfach ein Talent dafür mit den Gefühlen ihrer Leser zu jonglieren und dafür liebe ich sie, genauso wie die Brüder. Und nun heißt es wieder ein Jahr auf den nächsten Teil warten … *heul*
SPOILER!!
Ich persönlich freue mich ja schon auf den nächsten Teil, in dem es – wie ihr vielleicht schon wisst – um die Shadows gehen wird. Ja genau, um Trez und iAm und ich finde die zwei ja ganz putzig, besonders iAm und seine Katzenliebe *lol* hach. Es hat gedauert bis sie mir ans Herz gewachsen sind, aber in diesem Teil haben sie es geschafft und ja, auf sie freue ich mich schon jetzt wieder sehr und ich denke, der nächste Teil könnte wieder die vollen Punkte erreichen, wenn alles klappt.^^

Mir gefällt wie immer das Cover vom Taschenbuch besser, auch, obwohl ich keine Ahnung habe, wer derjenige am Cover sein soll – vielleicht Assail?
All in all:
Ein erneut guter Teil aus Wards Feder, das ich nicht aus der Hand legen konnte und mich nicht unberührt ließ. Leider waren einige Dinge anders als gewohnt und obwohl ich generell für Veränderungen bin, hoffe ich, dass sie im nächsten Teil die Grundgeschichte wieder mehr den ursprünglichen Figuren widmet und sie mehr daran teilhaben lässt. Wir brauchen einfach das Geplänkel und den Witz, wenn Z, V, Rhage, Butch und die anderen zusammen kommen. Und wir haben noch lange nicht genug davon. *nein nein nein* -> Also hopp hopp Frau Ward, schreiben sie – schreiben sie schnell, damit das nächste Buch nicht so lange auf sich warten lässt.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Ich war wirklich überrascht und sehr begeistert vom ersten Teil dieser Reihe und dementsprechend hoch waren auch meine Erwartungen an dieses Buch hier. Besonders da es nun um Beth ging, die mir zwar im ersten Teil noch etwas zu abweisend vorkam, aber dafür schon im ersten Teil kurz gezeigt hat, dass ihr Leben alles andere als perfekt ist und daher kann man ihr Verhaltung, ihre Abwehr gut nachvollziehen.
So wie auch hier im zweiten Teil, in dem man noch einen viel größeren und genaueren Blick auf Beth und ihr Leben bekommt. Besonders auf ihre Mutter und ihr Verhältnis zu ihr und auch auf ihre verkorkste Kindheit, die man nicht einmal seinem Feind wünschen würde. Daher kann man wie gesagt auch Beths Verschlossenheit nachvollziehen und ihre Handlungen, die bei jeder anderen zum Kopfschütteln geführt hätte. Sie läuft gerne weg und will vor Problemen die Augen verschließen, doch dann wird ihr Onkel Scott ihr Vormund, sie muss umziehen und lernt dort den Sportler und Good-Boy Ryan kennen.
Und ja, hier haben wir auch gleich unseren romantischen, männlichen Gegenpart des Buches gefunden.
Zuerst hatte ich meine Probleme mit Ryan, weil er anscheinend alles hat, was man sich wünschen kann und eher oberflächlich wirkte. Aber das hat sich zum Glück im Verlauf geändert und ein Teil lag wohl auch daran, dass er ein Baseball-Spieler ist und ich damit über nichts anfangen kann und ich Null Interesse an Baseball habe. Zum Glück wurde dieser Aspekt immer weniger. 😉
Ich finde ja das Ryan ganz okay war und ein netter Charakter, und auch Beth war dann etwas besser, aber sie sind nicht rann gekommen an Noah und Echo aus dem ersten Teil. Irgendwie hat mir hier leider generell dieser wow-Effekt gefehlt, wofür ich selber nicht ganz den Grund benennen kann.
Und andere mögen dass oft nicht, wenn man noch sieht, wie glücklich das Pärchen aus einem vorherigen Teil ist und sie herum turteln, aber ich fand es schön, dass auch Echo und Noah kurz – sehr kurz- vorkamen und sie noch immer glücklich sind. Finde sowas immer total schön und auch okay und nicht übertrieben, wenn es so wie hier im Rahmen bleibt und nur kurz was von ihnen gezeigt wird. 🙂
Was mich aber sehr gestört hat, war die Tatsache, dass es sich doch vieler Klischees bedient hat, vor allem was Beth, aus schlechtem Hause, und Ryan, aus einer vermeintlich intakten, reichen Familie, betrifft. Auch die Wette, weswegen er zuerst Beth angesprochen hat, war nicht nach meinem Geschmack. Es war nicht originell und war viel zu sehr von Perfect Chemistry#1 abgekupfert, auch wenn es hier etwas anders abgelaufen ist.
Es tut mir selber leid, aber bei mir blieb die große Begeisterung aus, weil nicht wirklich was Überraschendes oder Neues gekommen ist, irgendwie war es zu mau. Obwohl ich aber ihren Onkel Scott ganz toll fand, und schade, dass am Ende nicht noch mehr mit ihm, oder zusammen mit seiner Frau war. Oder auch nicht mehr Begebenheiten mit ihrer Freundin Lacy gekommen ist, welche ich auch sehr interessant fand.
Als nächsten kommt dann im Herbst/ Winter 2013 ‚Crash into You‘ welche Isaiahs Geschichte sein wird. Momentan freue ich mich nicht besonders darauf, weil mir Isaiah auch noch nicht so ans Herz gewachsen ist, aber ich werde es trotzdem lesen, weil ich die Reihe doch abschließen möchte.

Dieses Cover gefällt mir wie auch beim ersten Buch total gut und wie auch dort, passen die Personen gut zu den Beschreibungen im Buch (ist ja nicht immer der Fall ^^)
All in all:
Es war ein gutes Buch und alles in allem hatte ich auch meinen Spaß beim Lesen, aber trotzdem bin ich etwas enttäuscht, da dieser wow-Effekt ausblieb, den ich beim ersten Teil hatte.

My thoughts about the book:
I was really surprised and sooo hooked by the first book of this series and accordingly of this, my expectations for that book were also really high. Particularly because now it was about Beth, who though seemed to me in the first book a little bit unfriendly, but has already shown in the first part briefly, that her life isn’t anything but perfect and hence, I could understand her behavior and also her defense.
As well as also here in the second part, in which I still got a lot bigger and more exact look at Beth and her life – particularly on her mother and her relation to her, and also on her flubbed childhood, which I even wouldn’t wish my worst enemy. Therefore I can understand as already said, Beth’s reticence and her actions, which would have led to shaking my head with any other character. Beth often runs away and wants to close her eyes before problems, but then her uncle Scott gets custody for her, she has to live with him and his wife and there she gets to know the sportsman and god-boy Ryan. And, yes, here we also have found our romantic, male protagonist of the book.
First I had my problems with Ryan because he apparently has everything what one can wish for and looked rather superficial. But luckily this has changed during the book and a part for it, was probably also due to the fact that he’s a baseball player, a sports with which I have no interest in it at all. Luckily this aspect became less and less. 😉
I find Ryan was quite okay and a nice character, and then also Beth was a better, but they weren’t as awesome as the couple Noah and Echo from the first book. Unfortunately here I’ve missed this ‘wow-effect’, for which I can’t really find a reason.
Other readers often don’t like it, that in a further book you still see how happy the couple from a previous book is, when they whisper sweet nothings and kisses and so on, but I found that nice and I liked it, that Echo and Noah also showed-up it this book briefly – very briefly – and that they are still happy. I find something like that always absolutely sweet and also okay, if it’s not too much as it was here.
What has disturbed me very much was the fact that there were many clichés in the book, especially Beth, who comes from bad house, and Ryan, from a putatively intact, good and rich family. Also the bet, the reason because he has spoken at first to Beth, was not for my taste. It was not original and too similar to ‘Perfect Chemistry#1’ by Simone Elkeles, even if it has turn into a differently course.
I’m really sorry, but for me the big enthusiasm was missing, because there happened much surprising or special things in it, anyhow it was just too poor. Although I found her uncle Scott very great and it was a pity that at the end, there wasn’t more with him, or more together with him and his wife – or also that there weren’t any more occurrences with her friend Lacy, which I found also very interesting and I liked her at first sight.
At next the third book is coming out in autumn/ winter 2013‚ which will be called ‘Crash into You’, which will host the story of Isaiah. At the moment I’m not so glad about it, because right now I don’t really care much about Isaiah, but I will read it nevertheless, because I would like to conclude the whole series.

All in all:
It was a good book and all in all, I also had my fun while reading it, but nevertheless, I’m a little disappointed, because this great wow-effect was missing, which I had with the first part.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Ich versuche mich bei dieser Rezension vom achten Band (im Deutschen 15 + 16) kurz zu fassen und nicht wieder in Lobeshymnen zu verfallen. Aber um ehrlich zu sein, kann ich fast gar nicht anders, als Wards Schreibstil, ihre Kreativität und ihr Können zu bewundern und anzupreisen. Obwohl das hier nun schon der sagenhafte achte Band ist und ich jedesmal bevor ich zum Lesen beginne, damit rechne, dass ich dieses mal nicht so begeistert sein werde… überrascht sie mich von neuem. Auch dieser Teil hat mir wahnsinnig gut gefallen und ich konnte das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen. Zu meinem Glück war Wochenende als ich es begonnen habe und konnte es somit innerhalb von 1 ½ Tagen durchlesen und ich fand es klasse!
Obwohl immer wieder ein anderer Rhythmus in den Büchen vorkommt und auch vermehrt andere Gefühle angesprochen werden und hier zu Beginn vor allem Verzweiflung, Angst und Traurigkeit geherrscht hat, war es keine Sekunde langweilig oder nicht passend… es war alles so wie es sein sollte und das Ende war wie immer erhofft -> grandios! Aber darüber kann ich nicht mehr sagen, ich will ja nichts verraten. 😉
Nur soviel, das hier nun endlich John am Zug war und seine Geschichte, die wir ja schon aus den Vorgänger- Büchern kennen, anders aufgerollt wurde und zwar über Darius. Und es wurde auch die Vernetzung zwischen ihm und Xhex und Thor gezeigt. Das war zwar am Anfang etwas verwirrend, hat aber am Ende den gewünschten ‚Aha‘ – Effekt gebracht.
Johns Geschichte war für mich eine der traurigsten, aber auch eine der am heißesten. Er uns Xhex passen wie der ‚Deckel auf den Topf‘ und ich könnte ihn mir mit keiner anderen vorstellen.
Noch hinzu kam, dass es einen Höhepunkt im Kampf gegen die Lesser gab und durch Lash immer die Spannung aufrecht blieb. Interessant fand ich weiters wie Ward langsam Payne in die ganze Story verwickelt hat, bis zu dem Zeitpunkt, wo sie auf die andere Seite gekommen ist. Und ihre Verbindung zu Vishous finde ich genial, auch wenn ich vorher schon davon gewusst habe.
Einen bitteren Nachgeschmack lässt dieses Buch aber dennoch, wenn man nur an Thor oder die Jungfrau der Schrift denkt. Nicht weil es schlecht geschrieben wurde oder dergleichen, nein, … sondern weil man zu sehr mit Thors Tragödie mitfühlt und auch die Jungfrau der Schrift langsam anfängt zu bemitleiden. Ich war ja von Anfang an kein Fan von ihr, aber nun könnte es auch für sie wieder etwas bergauf gehen.
Was ich bei den ganzen Büchern in dieser Reihe so toll finde ist, dass obwohl die Hauptliebesgeschichte in jedem Buch fertig erzählt wird, immer wieder Nebenstränge oder auch der Hauptkampf mit den Lessern weitergeht und neue Erzählstränge anfangen sich zu bilden, die einem immer wieder neugierig machen und einem antreiben die Reihe sofort mit dem nächsten Buch weiter zu lesen. Daher hoffe ich nach wie vor, dass noch viele weitere Bücher erscheinen.

Eine Leseempfehlung für alle Black Dagger Fans und auch jene, die sich noch nicht mit der Materie beschäftigt haben. Bitte schnappt euch endlich das erste Buch in dieser Reihe und fängt an zu lesen!

My thoughts about the book:
Again I’ve finished a book of Ward to the end and I already stay behind and long for more of it. *sigh* I don’t know how Ward is able to make me so depending on her books and on her stories, as well on the brothers. But as soon as I start to read the first page, I’m swallowed into another world, another reality and come back again only reluctantly. For me these books aren’t only there to fill my spare time, but they do for me almost the same job like others use a glass of good red wine or settle down on the couch before the television -> they calm me and let me relax after a strenuous day full work and everyday duties. This is a nice feeling and I’m glad every time I find the time to take these books into my hands. But enough of the passion, further to the facts:
In the seventh book we find out more about the intrigues from Rehvenge, who is also called Reverend in the drug scene in Caldwell. He is the older brother of Bella, Shellan of Zsadist, and also a half Sympath and actually would’ve to be transferred to the colony of the Sympaths to probably die there. But he has built up a life in the vampire society and has so far well hidden his bad side from all others, only a few know about his true nature. Up to now he had no problems to keep these secrets to him and not to confide to anybody, until he meets Ehlena. She is a heart-good nurse in Haver’s clinic and she always tries to act right in her life and to fulfill her duties which limit her life not only because of her work, but encloses also her self-sacrificing care for her schizophrenic father. The destiny wants that Rehvenge and Ehlena get closer to each other and soon the world of Rehvenge starts to falter …
But not only the relationship between Rehvenge and Ehlena tapers further, but also Johns and Xhexs and make everyone curious for the further book…
And I also have to admit that I’ve not suffered so strong and wasn’t so thrilled in book for a long time like it happened here in ‘Lover Avenged’. On the one hand the love story of Rehvenge and Ehlena was lovely to be followed by and it was clear that they will get their happy end. But besides that, the upset relation of John and Xhex stretch on and on in a sad, deep dark hole and John’s fat have almost broken my heart. He is one of my declared darlings is in the series, since he has appeared for the first time in the second book and his story has been in all the book constantly since then, like a central theme along all the other happy ends. Only that John never got his happy end and could only watch the joy of the others form far away while he fell further in a bottomless black hole. He has already experienced so much sadness and with him, I don’t know why, but there is no end … and the last events threaten to break him if it is not too late already. This has deeply touched me and unfortunately has also damped somehow my joy while reading about the other events.
It was also sometimes irritating that occasionally the king Wrath and Beth appeared in the book again very often, although their ‚time’ was already in the first one. Because of this and because of a few other things I must confess that in this book the subplots around the princess, John and Xhex, Wrath and Beth, Thor or about the Sympaths and Lash, were a little too much and they put the main story of Rehvenge and Ehlena too much in the background. Of course I have devoured that book like no other, but nevertheless I would have wished for more togetherness of both main protagonists, particularly because Rehvenge is very much… well, handsome guy! 🙂
Actually, I have planned not to read another Black Dagger book after ‘Lover Avenged’ and to make a little break from Ward’s books because I simply have enough other books to read for Challenge or for reviews, but unfortunately, I’m not able to start another book and so I just started directly with the book #8 (Lover Mine) because I need to know what happens next.
At the moment it is so exciting that I can’t think of anything else and after this book was already an absolute, breathtaking page-turner, I am sure that this well be even increased in the next part because I finally will read Johns story… and Mrs. Ward… I also expect to get a happy-end for him!

An unlimited reading recommendation from my side because the book has offered me everything what I’ve hoped for and even more and I want to share this feeling with everyone else.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Wieder ist ein Buch von Ward zu Ende und wieder bleibe ich zurück und sehne mich nach mehr. *seufz* Ich weiß nicht wie Ward es macht oder es schafft mich so abhängig von ihren Büchern, ihrer Geschichte und den Brüdern zu machen. Aber sobald ich die erste Seite anfange zu lesen, werde ich verschluckt in eine andere Welt, eine andere Realität und komme nur ungern wieder zurück. Für mich sind diese Bücher nicht nur zum Zeitvertreib da sondern erfüllen für mich fast die gleiche Aufgabe, wie für andere ein Glas guten Rotweines oder sich vor dem Fernsehen auszubreiten -> sie beruhigen mich und lassen mich entspannen nach einem anstrengenden Tag voller Arbeit und Alltagspflichten. Das ist ein schönes Gefühl und ich freue mich jedes Mal wenn ich die Zeit finde die Bücher in die Hand zu nehmen. Aber genug von der Schwärmerei, weiter zu den knallharten Tatsachen:
Im siebenten Teil (im deutschen 13 und 14) erfahren wir mehr über die Machenschaften von Rehvenge, der in der Drogenszene auch Reverend genannt wird. Er ist der ältere Bruder von Bella, Shellan von Zsadist, und außerdem ein halber Sympath und müsste eigentlich in die Kolonie der Sympathen überstellt werden, um dort,… wahrscheinlich zu sterben. Aber er hat sich ein Leben in der vampirischen Gesellschaft aufgebaut und seine böse Seite soweit gut vor allen anderen versteckt, nur wenige wissen von seiner wahren Natur. Bisher hatte er keine Probleme diese Geheimnisse für sich zu behalten und sich niemanden anzuvertrauen, bis er Ehlena trifft. Sie ist eine herzensgute Krankenschwester in Haver’s Klinik und immer darauf bedacht, das richtige im Leben zu tun und ihre Pflichten zu erfüllen, die sich nicht nur auf ihre Arbeit beschränken, sondern auch ihre aufopfernde Fürsorge für ihren schizophrenen Vater mit einschließt. Das Schicksal will es, dass sich Rehvenge und Ehlena näher kommen und bald gerät die Welt von Rehvenge ins schwanken…
Aber es spitzt sich nicht nur die Beziehung von Rehvenge und Ehlena immer weiter zu, sondern auch die von John und Xhex…
Ich muss zugeben, ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so stark bei einem Buch mit gelitten wie bei diesem. Einerseits war die Liebesgeschichte von Rehvenge und Ehlena schön mitzuverfolgen und es war klar, dass es ein Happy End geben würde. Aber nebenbei spann sich das verkorkste Verhältnis von John und Xhex immer weiter in einen traurigen, tiefen Abgrund und John hat mir fast das Herz gebrochen. Er war/ ist einer meiner deklarierten Lieblinge dieser Reihe, seit er im zweiten Band zum ersten mal aufgetaucht ist und seine Geschichte hat sich seitdem ständig in den Büchern befunden, wie ein roter Faden entlang all der anderen Happy Ends. Nur das John nie eines bekam und immer nur von weitem zusehen konnte und nun immer weiter in das bodenlose schwarze Loche fällt. Er hat schon soviel Trauriges erlebt und es nimmt bei ihm irgendwie kein Ende… und die letzten Ereignisse drohen ihn zu brechen, wenn es nicht schon zu spät ist. Das hat mich im Herzen tief berührt und hat mir leider während dem ganzen Buch die Freude über die anderen Geschehnisse etwas gedämpft.
Auch war es manchmal irritierend, dass zwischendurch wieder viel von König Wrath und Beth gekommen ist, die eigentlich ihre ‚Zeit’ schon im ersten Band hatten. Ich muss gestehen, in diesem Teil hat die Nebenhandlung rund um die Prinzessin, John und Xhex, Wrath und Beth, Thor oder über die Sympathen und Lash, die Hauptgeschichte von Rehvenge und Ehlena etwas gehemmt und hat sich zu sehr in den Vordergrund gedrängt. Natürlich habe ich aufgrund dessen das Buch verschlungen wie kein anderes, aber trotzdem hätte ich mir mehr Zweisamkeit der beiden Hauptprotagonisten gewünscht, besonders da Rehvenge ein sehr, … ähm, ansehnlicher Typ ist! 😉
Eigentlich habe ich geplant nach ‚Lover Avenged’ wieder eine Black Dagger Pause einzulegen, weil ich einfach genug andere Bücher für Challenges bzw. für Rezensionen zu lesen habe… aber ich konnte leider nicht anders und musste direkt weiter lesen bei Band 8 um heraus zu finden, was als nächstes passiert.
Es ist momentan so spannend, dass ich an nichts anderes denken kann und nachdem dieses Buch schon ein absoluter, atemberaubender Page- Turner war, bin ich mir sicher, dass dies im nächsten Band noch einmal gesteigert wird, weil ich endlich Johns Geschichte lesen werde… und Frau Ward… ich erwarte mir auch für ihn ein Happy- End!!

Ja, dieses Mal ist es ein Cover nach meinem Geschmack, endlich mit einem feschen Typen drauf, den ich als Rehvenge durch gehen lassen könnte, wenn er auch violette Augen und ein etwas kantigeres Gesicht hätte.
All in all:
Eine uneingeschränkte Leseempfehlung von mir, weil das Buch mir alles geboten hat, was ich mir wünschte und noch vieles mehr, und ich dieses Gefühl nur jeden anderen auch wünsche.
