My thoughts about the book:
I’m just speechless and that doesn’t happen very often
But after the end I don’t know whether I should be glad about the hopefully soon released next part or should cry because we don’t know what is going to happen next…

However, better I start right with the beginning:
Some months after Allie’s and Zeke’s ways have separated at Eden, she is still following the psycho-vamp Sarren, who has Kanin in his catches and torments and massacres him over and over again – Allie can feel this, because of her blood connection with Kanin. But instead of him, Allie hits in further results other old friends. At first by some of them, I immediately would have liked to turn around again and by others I’ve been enormously glad!! ♥
But about that I’m going to write more of it, further down.

Now to the writing style of Kagawa, which I find simply brilliant, admirable and desirable. Though she sometimes stretches her descriptions a little, but she makes the surroundings-descriptions so special and fantastic that it don’t disturbs me and so I’m just even more enthusiastic about it – whether it is about a fantastic fairy kingdom or like here about a cruel, somber area in tunnels or in wastelands, in which hope stands shortly before the end. *great*

Without any problems Kagawa also could create characters which got me, carried me away and with which, I simply fell in love with and I constantly worried about them. Even with Jackal I had this feeling, although I only wanted to strangle him at the beginning – but he could persuade me with his cheeky, unabashed behavior and change my opinion about him. (To tell the truth, he reminds me a little of Grimalkin from the Iron Fey series ^^)
But also Kanin was one of my favorites – and now that where I’m okay with the idea, that there will be no romantic incident with him – I’m glad about his fatherly behavior and for me he is a little like a grumpy bear, on which you also can lean on or is able to give you a good advice.

Now to the two main characters: Allie was just great once again and totally great. I like her even more than back then Meghan in the Iron Fey series, because she sorts things out and doesn’t hesitate long, doesn’t whine and in addition, she still has feelings and tries to hang on to her humanity. Alas, she is awesome and we could use more such female main characters in books.

And ZEKE – what I should say more about Ezekiel than that I’m absolutely in love with him! ♥ Although, in the first book I already liked him, but there he was sometimes too blue-eyed for me and was too nice for this sad, dreary world, which he lived it. BUT now he has grown up and has become more masculine and a fighter. That sounds stupid, but it is like that! Moreover I buy everything from him and he is in the right mood, he is still sensitive, sweet and caring, like in the first part. He virtually had a tuning, which made him a lot better and yeah – now, I’m in love! xD

So – and now to the end – which has totally got me down and made me cry like a little baby! Therefore, now I would like to address only those, who have already read the book – because I would like to know your opinion on this subject and what you think, how it goes on now in the third part … because on the internet I can’t find any info about when part three is going to be published or how it will be titled, never mind a synopsis! *whine*

So from here -> SPOILER!!!

I saw it coming when Allie has said goodbye in the evening to Zeke, especiallay because she saw Stick lurking around in the shadows … this was just soo evident! And then when Zeke was really gone and we hear the tortures and the screams – oh god, I’ve cried like a baby and also yet, when I think back of it, it’s killing me. It was really very hard and sad and I felt so sorry for Allie. :’-(

Now to my questions: What do you think after this prologue – do you think he has also become a vampire? Which I liked, to be honest – or do you think, Sarren just let Zeke live as a human? But this would be too easy for me! Moreover, then he could be together with Allie – be together for a long time, because they both would be immortal. Of course he didn’t wanted this, and hence, I think, the third part will be focused on the fact that Allie has to find her humanity again and Zeke has to master his existence as a vampire and to try not to perish – and yeah, they also have to find a cure against rabidsm and to kill Sarren – this psycho-asshole. Okay, do you think my opinion is right or is my supposition totally wrong? What do you wish for in the last part?

Cover:
Once again it fits perfectly to Allie, but I liked the cover from the first part a track better.

All in all:
An emotional rollercoaster, which though gets starting a little slowly, but then takes up such a rapidly drive and doesn’t stop up till to the end, until you are breathless when you read the last page. *wow*

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Ich bin einfach nur sprachlos und das passiert mir nicht häufig
Aber nach dem Ende weiß ich nicht, ob ich mich über die hoffentlich baldige Fortsetzung freuen soll oder heulen, weil man nicht weiß, was als nächstes passiert…

Aber fangen wir am besten ganz von vorne an:
Einige Monate nachdem sich Allies und Zekes Wege in Eden getrennt haben, ist sie noch immer hinter dem Psycho-Vamp Sarren her, der Kanin in seinen Fängen hat und immer wieder foltert und massakriert – das kann Allie wegen ihrer Blutsverbindung zu ihm spüren. Aber anstatt auf ihn, trifft sie in weiterer Folge auf andere alte Bekannte. Bei einigen hätte ich am liebsten sofort wieder umgedreht und bei anderen habe ich mich ungeheuer gefreut!! ♥
Dazu werde ich später weiter unten noch genauer eingehen.

Nun zur Schreibweise, die ich bei Kagawa einfach genial finde, bewunderns- und erstrebenswert. Sie holt zwar manchmal etwas aus bei ihren Beschreibungen, aber sie macht ihre Umgebungsbeschreibungen so gefinkelt und toll, dass es mich nicht weiter stört und ich nur begeistert darüber bin – egal, ob es sich dabei um ein phantastisches Feenreich handelt und wie hier, um eine grausame, düsteren Gegend in Tunnel oder im Ödland, in denen die Hoffnung kurz vor dem Ende steht. *großartig*

Auch schafft es Kagawa auch ohne Probleme Charaktere zu erschaffen, die einem packen, mitreißen und in die man sich einfach verliebt und sich um sie sorgt. Sogar bei Jackal war dieses Gefühl da, obwohl ich ihm am Anfang nur den Hals umdrehen wollte – aber er konnte mich mit seiner frechen, ungenierten Art überzeugen und meine Meinung zu ihm ändern. (Ehrlich gesagt erinnert er mich ein wenig an Grimalkin aus der Iron Fey Reihe ^^)
Genauso war Kanin einer meiner Lieblinge – und jetzt wo ich eingesehen habe, dass es keine romantischen Begebenheiten mit ihm geben wird – bin ich froh, über sein väterliches Verhalten und empfinde ihn ein wenig als Grummelbär, an dem man sich trotzdem gut anlehnen oder um Rat bitte kann.

Nun zu den beiden Hauptcharakteren:  Allie war wieder einmal einfach nur toll und klasse. Ich mag sie sogar mehr als damals Meghan, da sie eine ‘Anpackerin’ ist, nicht lange zögert, nicht jammert und dazu noch Gefühle hat und sich ihre Menschlichkeit bewahren möchte. Hach, sie ist klasse und man könnte mehr weibliche Hauptcharas, wie sie in Bücher benötigen

Und ZEKE – was soll ich zu Ezekiel schon viel mehr sagen, als dass ich hin und weg von ihm bin! ♥ Zugegeben, im ersten Teil mochte ich ihn zwar auch schon, aber dort war er mir manchmal zu blauäugig und zu nett und gut für diese traurige, triste Welt, die hier beschrieben wird. ABER jetzt ist er erwachsen, männlicher und zu einem Kämpfer geworden. Klingt blöd, ist aber so! Außerdem kauf ich ihm alles ab und er ist trotzdem, wenn er es zulässt, noch immer so sensibel und süß und fürsorglich, wie im ersten Teil. Er hatte quasi ein Tuning, dass ihn nur noch viel, viel besser gemacht hat und hach, ja – ich bin verliebt! xD

So – und nun zum Ende – das mich total fertig gemacht und wie ein Baby zum Weinen gebracht hat! Daher möchte ich damit nur diejenige ansprechen, die das Buch bereits gelesen haben – ich möchte nämlich eure Sicht zu diesem Thema erfahren und was ihr denkt, wie es nun im dritten Teil weitergehen wird… im Internet find ich nämlich keine Infos wann Teil 3 kommt oder wie er heißen wird, geschweige denn eine Inhaltsbeschreibung! *heul*

Ab hier -> SPOILER !!!

Ich habe es kommen sehen, als sich Allie am Abend von Zeke verabschiedet hat, besonders als dann auch noch dieser Arsch Stick in der Gegend herum gelaufen ist… das war doch sooo klar! Und als dann Zeke wirklich weg war und die Folter und die Schreie – ohoho, ich habe wie ein Baby geweint und auch jetzt noch, bin ich wirklich erschlagen, wenn ich daran zurück denke. War sehr hart und traurig und Allie hat mir soo leid getan! :’-(

Was denkt ihr nach diesem Prolog – ist er nun auch ein Vampir? Für das ich persönlich wäre – oder denkt ihr, er hat ihn einfach am Leben gelassen als Mensch? Das wäre mir aber zu einfach! Und außerdem könnte er dann mit Allie zusammen sein – lange zusammen sein, weil sie beide unsterblich wären. Natürlich wollte er das nicht, und daher denke ich, wird der dritte Teil sehr darauf fokussiert sein, dass Allie ihre Menschlichkeit wieder erlangt und Zeke sein Dasein als Vampir meistert und daran nicht zugrunde geht – und ja, klar, dass sie eine Heilung gegen Rabidsm finden und Sarren – diesen Psycho-Arsch – killen. Okay, seit ihr meiner Meinung oder denkt ihr, ich liege mit meinen Ahnahmen total verkehrt? Was würdet ihr euch wünschen, für den letzten Teil?

Cover:
Wieder einmal passt es perfekt zu Allie, wobei mir das Cover aus Teil eins eine Spur besser gefällt.

All in all:
Eine emotionale Hochschaubahn, die zwar etwas langsam ins Rollen kommt, aber dann so rasant Fahrt annimmt und bis zum Ende hin nicht mehr stoppt, bis man atemlos die letzte Seite liest. *wow*

Endlich ist es wieder an der Zeit, euch meine neuen Bücher vorzustellen. Zum Glück sind es dieses Monat nicht so viele geworden, worüber sich besonders mein SUB freut. My thoughts about the book:
I was back again in the Nevernever and I have enjoyed my visit! Particularly, because it was already a certain time ago that I’ve read the ‘Iron Fey’ series and I’ve missed the world and some characters in it so much.

I’m aware that I’m prejudiced and that I can’t rate the books of Kagawa any more objectively because I am simply just so a big fan of her and her world full of fairies. Other readers might like this book not so much than I did, because I also see the weak spots in the story and within the characters, but nevertheless, I was totally enthused – I think it’s always like that when you’re in love, as well as I’m with her stories. And also her writing style is as usual always just indescribable magnificent, with wonderful and dreamlike descriptions of the scenery – picturesquely like a famous painting.

This book now is about the younger brother of Meghan, Ethan Chase, who isn’t so small at all and nice, like we have got to know him in the ‘Iron Fey’ series, but he has become stubborn, recalcitrant and tall– also built very well and attractively. (You only have to look at the incredible cover! ^^)

Ethan is able to see the fairies since he was born, but he dissimulate this secret because the fairy only gets him in trouble, in big trouble, what leads to the fact that Ethan is reserved and therefore also lives a more or less lonesome, dreary life. The only ones, who know about his ability, are Meghan – who left to life with the fairies – and his mother, who doesn’t speak of these things, because she fears them. So he is totally on his own. Hence it’s understandable that he is quite a sourpuss, at least at the beginning. Of course this changes after his acquaintance with Kenzie, where we are already by the female main character.

I have really liked both, Ethan and Kenzie, and I could get involved with them very well and fast. They were also a great couple and they showed a nice see-saw. And I also must confess that Ethan reminds me a little of Ash, with his often rotten mood and his constant humming. But in return Kenzie is completely different than Meghan! She is a disobedient, headstrong, cheeky and strong personality and has whined not once, although she also has to deal with some hard things. I also think now for me she is one of my newest favorite characters and I find them both great, really great and I’m already looking forward to read more about them in the next part. To be honest – I can’t wait and I’m dying here while waiting for the second book. :/

But unfortunately I couldn’t completely feel with in the same way like I did with the first series (with Meghan and Ash) what is probably due to the fact, that Ethan is telling the story from his POV and therefore it’s clear that there are mentioned less feelings and emotions, which rules in him (but otherwise it also would be a little unsexy ^^). Often I also felt that he brooded constantly and too often over the same problem, although it was already discussed and I fear that this will also go on in the next part.
But nevertheless I’m really looking forward to the second part, because I want to read more about them and I also want to know how it goes on with the other characters. Particularly with Keeiran and Annwyln.

However, I think it’s a little pity that though Ash, Meghan or Puck showed up, they only were present for a very short time and hadn’t an important role in it. For me that would be okay, if it was just Meghan and Ash, but that also Puck and Grimalkin were very absent, has surprised me. I’ve really hoped for Puck that he gets a nice part again and gets this time also his happy-end, but unfortunately no. And instead of Grimalkin,  these Razor got the steadier role beside the main characters and though it was also funny when he has chirped the first time ‘bad Kitty’, it become dull after the third time.

Also the plot wasn’t so very surprising  in the story, because I’ve foreseen parts of it, which were also confirmed later on, for example the thing with the queen or with Kenzie. There Kagawa has probably already pointed to it too early, as well as the thing with the mysterious ‘Forgotten’ was no surprise for me. But I think that I see that rather fast in such a way, because I’ve already read all the other books from her. For somebody who doesn’t know ‘The Iron Fey’ series, the book offers more new things and surprise. However then the joy of seeing all the other characters from the first series again, is missing, which I really liked . So everything has his own advantages.
But I think, one can also read this book without having read ‘The Iron Fey’ series before. Everything is explained and one can follow the story also without foreknowledge.

This is an amazing cover which shows Ethan matchless at it. It’s really brilliant and there you only want to start reading the book immediately, right?

All in all:
Not as good as ‘The Iron Fey’ series, because in my opinion there were many similar things in it, but nevertheless still a highlight and Kagawa writes for me the best and most fantastic fairy stories.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Ich war wieder zurück im Nevernever und ich habe den Besuch genossen! Besonders, da es schon eine gewisse Zeit her war und ich auch einige Charaktere darin sehr vermisst habe.

Mir ist bewusst, dass ich voreingenommen bin und die Bücher von Kagawa nicht mehr objektiv bewerten kann, weil ich einfach an Fan von ihr und ihrer Welt voller Feen bin. Andere dürfte dieses Buch vielleicht nicht so gefallen wie mir, ich sehe nämlich auch die Schwachstellen in der Geschichte und bei den Charakteren, aber trotzdem war ich begeistert – so ist es wohl immer, wenn man verliebt ist, so wie ich in ihre Geschichten. Und auch ihr Schreibstil ist wie immer grandios, mit wundervollen und traumhaften Beschreibungen der Szenerie – malerisch wie auf einem Gemälde.

Dieses Buch handelt also nun von dem kleinen Bruder von Meghan, Ethan Chase, der gar nicht mehr so klein und lieb ist, wie wir ihn in der Plötzlich Fee Reihe kennengelernt haben, sondern er ist ganz schön bockig, widerspenstig und groß geworden–gut gebaut und attraktiv. (Schaut euch nur das Cover an! ^^)

Ethan kann seit jeher die Feen sehen, verheimlicht das aber, weil sie ihm nur Ärger einhandeln, mächtigen Ärger, was dazu führt, dass Ethan sich zurück gezogen hat und ein mehr oder weniger einsames, tristes Leben führt. Die einzigen die von seiner Fähigkeit wissen, sind Meghan, die in das Feenland abgehauen ist und seine Mutter, die über diese Dinge aus Angst nicht mit ihm spricht. Er ist also ganz auf sich allein gestellt. Daher ist es nachvollziehbar, dass er ein ziemlicher Miesepeter ist, zumindest zu Beginn. Natürlich ändert das seine Bekanntschaft mit Kenzie, wo wir auch schon beim weiblichen Hauptcharakter wären.

Beide, Ethan und Kenzie, haben mir sehr gut gefallen und man konnte sich gut mit ihnen einlassen. Sie gaben es gutes Pärchen ab, ein nettes hin und her. Wobei ich gestehen muss, dass Ethan mich doch sehr an Ash erinnert, mit seiner oft miesen Laune und seinem ständigen Gebrummel. Dafür ist aber Kenzie komplett anders als Meghan! Sie ist eine widerspenstige, sture, freche und starke Persönlichkeit und hat kein einziges Mal gejammert, obwohl auch sie einige harte Dinge zu bewältigen hat. Ich glaube, für mich ist sie nun eine meiner neuesten Lieblingscharaktere und ich finde sie toll, wirklich toll und ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Teil um mehr von ihr zu lesen.

Leider konnte ich aber nicht ganz so mitfiebern, wie bei der ersten Reihe, was wohl daran liegt, dass Ethan die Geschichte erzählt und dadurch ganz klar, weniger auf die Gefühle eingegangen wird, die in ihm herrschen. Oft ist es mir auch so gegangen, dass er ständig und zu oft über das gleiche Problem grübelte, obwohl es schon besprochen wurde und ich fürchte, dass dies auch in den nächsten Teil noch so weitergehen wird.
Aber ich freue mich trotzdem darauf, besonders weil ich auch wissen will, wie es mit den anderen Charakteren weitergeht. Besonders mit Keeiran und Annwyln.

Schade finde ich aber, dass wenig von Ash, Meghan dabei war – war ja für mich klar war. Aber das auch Puck und Grimalkin sehr abwesend waren, hat mich doch überrascht. Hatte für Puck gehofft, dass er wieder eine nette Nebenrolle bekommt und dieses Mal sein Happy End kriegt, aber leider nein. Und statt Grimalkin hat diese Razor die stetigere Rolle neben den Hauptfiguren bekommen, wobei es beim ersten Mal ja noch lustig war, als er ‚Bad Kitty’ gezirpt hat, dann aber nicht mehr so. Schade, schade.

Auch ist es von der Handlung her nicht sehr überraschend gewesen, Teile habe ich voraus gesehen und wurden mir dann auch bestätigt, wie zb. Die Sache mit der Königin oder das mit Kenzie. Da hat Kagawa wohl schon zu früh darauf hingewiesen, wie auch die Sache mit den ‚Forgotten’ war kein Überraschungseffekt mehr dabei. Aber ich denke dass sehe ich eher so, weil ich die anderen Bücher schon alle gelesen habe. Für jemanden der ‚Plötzlich Fee’ noch nicht kennt, bietet das Buch mehr neues. Dafür ist aber auch die Wiedersehens-Freude bei den Charakteren aus der anderen Reihe nicht da. Also hat alles seine Vorteile.
Aber ich denke, man kann dieses Buch auch lesen, ohne vorher die Plötzlich Fee Reihe gelesen zu haben. Es wird alles erklärt und man kann der Geschichte auch ohne Vorwissen folgen.

Etwas schwächer als die ‚Plötzlich Fee’ Reihe, da vieles ähnlich auf mich wirkte, aber trotzdem noch immer ein Highlight und Kagawa schreibt für mich die besten und fantastischsten Feengeschichten

Ich weiß, dass ich eigentlich keine neuen Bücher kaufen wollte, bevor mein SUB wieder verringert wurde, aber ich habe einige Vorbestellungen bekommen, die ich schon vor Monaten gemacht habe und außerdem ein paar gratis ebooks bekommen und da kann ich natürlich auch nicht ‘Nein’ sagen. Einige von den Büchern habe ich aber dafür schon wieder gelesen, wie zb. ‘The Immortal Rules’ und ‘Das Geheimnis der Flamingofrau’, sowie lese ich zurzeit ‘City of Lost Souls’..

I know that I actually wanted to buy no new books before I’ve reduced again my number of unread books, but I’ve got some advance orders which I’ve already made months ago and moreover I also got some free ebooks and there I couldn’t say ‘NO’ of course.
