Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Ich bin so froh, dass Ward ihren Willen durchgesetzt und dieses tolle Buch geschrieben hat. Solange haben wir darauf warten müssen und jetzt endlich haben wir auch die Story von Qhuinn und Blay. Ich finde zwar Blay ganz okay, aber Qhuinn gehört einfach zu meinen Lieblingen in der Reihe (neben ein paar anderen ^^). Und er hat mir immer wieder das Herz gebrochen mit seiner Vergangenheit, seiner Familie und auch jetzt, wo er ein Jahr lang Blay mit Saxton zusehen musste. Besonders da er nun endlich weiß, was er will und was er fühlt – sicher ist es noch ein Prozess, auch in diesem Buch, aber endlich gesteht er sich seine Gefühle ein, anstatt sie zu verdrängen und zu ignorieren.
Schon alleine für den Mut und die Eier, die Ward bewiesen hat, dieses Buch zu schreiben, gibt es von mir einen Extrapunkt, denn das war nicht so einfach, wie man sich das vorstellen möchte. In einem Buchforum habe ich nämlich gehört, dass Ward sogar extra die Agentur gewechselt hat, um ihren Wunsch zu erfüllen diese homosexuelle Liebe zu schreiben, da es doch kein ganz konservatives Thema ist und einige damit noch immer ein Problem haben. Was ich persönlich wirklich schlimm finde in der heutigen Zeit. Aber Ward hat sich davon nicht einschüchtern lassen und das finde ich toll! Hut ab.

Die Schreibweise von Ward war wieder typisch ‚wardisch‘ mit eigenen Ausdrücken und vielen Schimpfwörtern, Flüchen und dem berühmte F*** Wort. Aber hier stört mich diese Ausdrucksweise nicht, weil es einfach zu den Brüdern der Black Dagger passt. Sie sind nun einmal harte Männer und drücken sich auch so aus, was sie nur noch echter und authentischer macht. Für mich wirken die Figuren gerade deswegen auch so lebendig und ich kann es mir nicht erklären, aber für mich fühlen sie sich einfach echt an … nicht wie starre Romanfiguren, sondern fast wie Freunde, die es wirklich irgendwo gibt. Und diesen Gedanken finde ich schön.

Im Gegensatz zu Lover Reborn, in dem sich die Handlung über ein ganzes Jahr zieht, passiert hier alles innerhalb weniger Tage und zwar im Zeitrahmen irgendwann im Winter. Leider ist mir nicht ganz klar, wann es spielt, ob es wirklich nach Lover Reborn spielt oder dazwischen. Eigentlich war auch gedacht, dass Qhuinn und Blays Geschichte nur eine kurze Novelle wird, so wie Bellas und Zs Babygeschichte, aber dann haben wir doch ein ganzes Buch erhalte. Worüber ich mich freue, aber trotzdem tut sich in der Hintergrundgeschichte nicht wirklich viel. Wie gesagt, der Zeitraum ist ziemlich kurz und auch die Lesser bleiben im Hintergrund, wie auch die Band of Bastards. Dieser Punkt, dass nicht viel passiert, außer der Liebegeschichte der beiden Hauptfiguren, die ihre Vergangenheit aufarbeiten und sich endlich zusammenraufen, Missverständnisse ausräumen und aussprechen, hätte mich eigentlich gestört.
Aber wieder habe ich in einer Forumsdiskussion gehört, dass angeblich bewusst wenig Hintergrundhandlung geschrieben wurde, damit Leute, die ein Problem mit homosexuellen Paaren haben, dieses Buch einfach auslassen können und erst wieder bei Buch # 12 einsteigen können, ohne, dass sie etwas Entscheidendes verpassen. Falls das stimmen sollte, kann ich erstens keinen Punkt dafür abziehen und zweitens, fände ich das wirklich traurig und schlimm in der aufgeklärten Zeit, in der wir leben. Oder zumindest gedacht haben, dass wir leben. Anscheinend sind doch noch nicht alle so tolerant, wie ich gedacht habe. Schade.

Statt der Handlung werden dafür aber neue Charaktere eingebaut, beziehungsweise bekommen andere Charaktere, die vorher immer nur kurz vorkamen mehr Raum und erzählen auch aus ihrer Sicht. Wie zb. Assail oder Trez und Xcor. Ich fand das jetzt leider nicht so toll, da dadurch vieles außerhalb der Black Dagger Grundformation spielt, aber durch eine Wendung am Ende, hoffe ich, dass der nächste Teil wieder vermehrt mit den alten Figuren (JM, V, Z, …) zu tun hat. Und auch die Wendung mit Qhuinns Bruder Luchas fand ich einfach genial und ich bin schon äußerst gespannt auf ihn!

Für mich war es auf alle Fälle wirklich ein sehr tolles Buch und ich konnte es nicht aus der Hand legen. Was mich selber wundert ist, obwohl ich keine Probleme mit homosexueller Liebe habe, waren die Szenen mit Qhuinn und Blay, die wieder sehr bildlich beschrieben wurden, doch sehr gut und sie haben mich vollkommen überzeugt. *wirklich hot hot*
Und das Ende war natürlich wieder ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Einige fanden es vielleicht zu kitschig und ja, so derart schnulzig ist selbst Ward am Ende selten, aber ich war trotzdem glücklich damit und froh, dass es so gekommen ist. Geht es nicht darum, dass man nach dem Lesen mit einem Lächeln auf den Lippen das Buch beendet? Ich denke schon und das hat Ward voll und ganz wieder perfekt erfüllt! Danke!

PS: Falls ihr wissen wollte, welche Geschichte als nächstes kommt, dann darf ich euch bereits verraten, dass das Buch ‘The King’ heißen und über Beth und Wrath handeln wird – wir gehen quasi zurück zum Ursprung!

Tolles Cover und ich weiß gar nicht welches mir besser gefällt, Hardcover oder Paperback. Ich selber habe das Taschenbuchformat von Pitakus und finde es genauso toll und passend, wie das Hardcover, welches auch sehr perfekt Qhuinn zeigt.

All in all:
Fast alle Erwartungen wurden gänzlich erfüllt und es war wieder eine tolle Reise in die Welt der Black Dagger, die ich immer wieder gerne besuche und nur schweren Herzes wieder verlasse. Nach wie vor ist sie eine meiner Lieblingsreihen und ich hoffe, sie geht noch lange weiter.

My thoughts about the book:
I’m so glad that Ward has got her will and has written this great book. We had to wait so long for it and now finally we also have the story of Qhuinn and Blay. Though I still think that Blay is quite okay, but Qhuinn is just one of my favorites in the series (beside some other characters^^). And he has broken my heart over and over again with his past, his family and also now, when he had to watch almost a whole Blay with Saxton. Particularly because he now finally knows what he wants and what he feels – of course it is still a process also in this book, but finally he confesses his feelings to himself, instead of ignoring them.
Already only for Wards courage and balls, which she has proved by writing this book, she got an extra point from me because this wasn’t as easy as you would like to think. I’ve read in a book-forum that Ward even has to swicht her agency to fulfill her wish to write this homosexual love, because it’s not quite a conservative subject and some people still have a problem with that – which I personally find really sad in nowadays. But Ward hasn’t scared away of it and I find this great! Hats off.

The writing manner of Ward was again typical ‚wardic’ with her own expressions and many swearwords, curses and the famous f*** word. But here this language doesn’t disturb me because it simply fits to the brothers of the Black Dagger. They are hard men and also express themselves in such a way, which makes them only more real and authentic. For me the characters just feel so alive because of that and I can’t explain it, but for me they are kind of feel real… not like some novel figures, but almost like friends, who are really living somewhere. And I like this thought.

In contrast to ‘Lover Reborn’, in which the plot played over a whole year, here everything happens within some days, namely in the time frame sometime in the winter. Unfortunately I’m not quite sure, when it plays ecaxtly or whether it plays after ‘Lover Reborn’ or in between. Actually at first it also was intended that Qhuinn and Blay only get a short story, as well as Bella’s and Z’s baby story, but then we have got a whole book. For which I’m really glad, but it doesn’t happen much in the background story. As said, the period is quite short and also the Lessers remain in the background, as well as the Band of Bastards. The point, that it doesn’t happen a lot – except the love story of the two main characters, which work off their past and clear it, finally get together and solve their misunderstandings and really start talking – would have disturbed me. But again I’ve read in a book forum, that this was made on purpose (to write only a little about the background story) so that people, who have a problem with homosexual couples, can simply let this book out, and start reading the series right with book # 12, so they won’t miss something important in the main story of the Brotherhood. If this should be right, I can’t reduce the rating by one point and secondly, I would find it really sad and bad in the enlightened time, in which we live – or at least supposed to live. Apparently not everybody is yet as tolerant as I’ve thought. It’s a shame.

So instead of the plot, new characters are gotten embedded or other characters, which before always were shown briefly, got more space and the opportunity to tell also their story – for example Assail, Trez or Xcor. Unfortunately I found this not so great, because thereby a lot of it plays outside the basic formation of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, but because of a special twist at the end of this book, I hope that the next part deals again more with the old characters (with JM, V, Z…).
And also the turn with Qhuinn’s brother Luchas was just awesome and I’m really very curious how this will turn out and I hope there will be more about him.

For me all in all it was really a very great book and I couldn’t put it aside. What surprises even me is, although I have no problems with homosexual love, were that I really liked the scenes with Qhuinn and Blay, which again were described very visual and they could persuade me completely. *really hot hot*

And the end was of course again completely for my taste. Maybe some found it too kitschy and, yes, something so soppy even for Ward is very rare at the end, but I was happy nevertheless with it and glad that it has come so. Isn’t it about the fact that you want to finish a book with a smile on your face? I think so and Ward has fulfilled this again totally perfect! Thanks!

Cover:
Great cover and I don’t know at all which one I like more – the hardcover or the paperback. I’ve got the paperback format of Pitakus at home and find it as great and suitable as like the hardcover version, which also shows Qhuinn perfectly.

All in all:
Almost all expectations were totally fulfilled and it was again a great trip into the world of the Black Dagger, which I love to visit over and over again and leave it again only with a sad heart. Still it is one of my favorite series and I hope it still will go on for a long time.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Der Beginn von ‚Godspeed – Die Reise beginnt‘ war für mich sehr bewegend und hat mich sofort in den Bann gezogen. Man wurde direkt in die Geschichte von Amy hinein geschubst und hat nicht erfahren warum es passiert, sondern nur, dass sie und ihre Eltern für die nächsten 300 Jahre eingefroren werden, sie der Erde den Rücken kehren und auf einem neuen Planeten wieder aufwachen sollen. Dabei wird genau geschildert wie Amy dieses ‚Einfrieren‘ erlebt bzw. was ich am schlimmsten, genauso aber am spannendsten fand, wie sie das ‚Eingefroren sein‘ empfand und auch miterlebt hat. Ähnlich wie Komapatienten, die doch vieles von der Umwelt mitbekommen, oder deren Gedanken rasen, während sie für die Außenwelt nur als leere Hüllen wahrgenommen werden.

Aber besonders zum Anfang wird immer wieder zwischen Amy und Elder gewechselt, wobei die Kapitel von Elder natürlich länger sind, da er die neue Welt auf dem Raumschiff – der Godspeed – schildert und von der Vergangenheit berichtet; eine nette kleine Einführung, um die derzeitige Situation der Geschichte zu erklären. Natürlich war diese Part wichtig, um die Leser wissen zu lassen, um was es eigentlich geht, aber mir war es viel zu lange, zu detailiert und einfach zu trocken. Es war für mich sehr zäh und das Lesen ging nur schleppend voran, wobei ich gestehen muss, das dies vielleicht zum Teil auch daran lag, dass ich es auf Englisch gelesen habe und es doch ein paar schwierigere, technische Begriffe gab. Das hemmt doch etwas den Lesefluss.
Was ich besonders suspekt fand, war diese Beziehung zwischen Elder und Eldest und ich finde ihre Namen einfach furchtbar. Okay, ja – es gehört zur Geschichte und hat einen Grund, aber trotzdem, diese Namen gehen doch überhaupt nicht. Wie empfindet ihr das?

Zur Geschichte zurück: die meiner Meinung nach ja als Sci Fiction eingestuft ist, aber einen sehr hohen Dystopie-Anteil hat. Die Monoethnologie, das nichts anders sein darf, alle nach gleichen Regeln/ Aussehen leben und es nur einen Anführer gibt, der über alle und jeder Entscheidung steht.
Ich find die Ansichten schon sehr extrem, die dieser Eldest bzw. dieses System hier präsentiert. Aber so ist eigentlich immer in einer Dystopie, das eine Gesellschaft zwar zu Beginn friedlich und gut erscheint, in der aber bei genauerem Hinsehen, doch einige gravierende Dinge extrem falsch laufen.

Das Zusammenspiel der Charaktere war für mich dieses Mal anders als sonst. Da nämlich der weibliche Hauptcharakter für mich viel besser und sympathischer war als der männliche. Ja, ehrlich! Amy war stark und hat Willenskraft, Durchsetzungsvermögen gezeigt und genau die richtige Portion Widerwillen, Frustration und Gefühle gezeigt, wenn es zu den traurigen, verzweifelten Stellen gekommen ist, aber sie hat nie unnötig gejammert, wie andere weibliche Hauptcharaktere. Das hat mir wirklich gut gefallen und ich mochte sie sehr. ABER dafür war Elder für mich als Junge und als männlicher Hauptdarsteller ganz nett, mehr aber auch nicht. Ich finde er war viel zu unsicher, oft zu jammernd und überlegt und sein fast einziger männlicher Attribut, war sein Aussehen, vom Verhalten wohl eher nicht, beziehungsweise erst ziemlich spät.

Wer mich neben Amy noch begeistern konnte, war Harley, aber das spielt wohl keine große Rolle mehr, oder? :/
Ich würde sagen, die Bewertung kommt auf 3,5 Punkte. Das Buch hat gute Idee und Passagen enthalten, war aber trotzdem stellenweise etwas träge und zäh präsentiert. Auch das Ende war mir zu einfach bzw. hat mich gestört, wie das mit Eldest/ Elder ausgegangen ist – ihre Konfrontation. Was ich gut fand, war aber, dass Elder am Ende ehrlich war zu Amy, egal ob sie dann kein Wort mehr mit ihm reden würde oder doch. Und sehr schade fand ich auch, was mit Harley passiert ist – ich meine, es war doch total absehbar, oder? Und dann lässt ihn Elder einfach dort und wundert sich, dass es dazu gekommen ist. *Überraschung*
Sehr schade und in meinen Augen auch komplett unnötig.

Das englische Cover ist wunderschön und gibt auch sehr eindrucksvoll die Sterne wieder, die eine wichtige Rolle spielen – genauso wie die Einfrierung. *grandios*

All in all:
Eine gute Idee zu einer interessanten Geschichte, die etwas mehr hätte bieten können, was Lesefluss und Action betrifft. Daher hoffe ich, dass der Folgeband mehr Spannung und weniger Erklärungen enthält.

My thoughts about the book:
This short story is about love, friendship, big feelings, but also about loss, grief and forgiveness – specifically to yourself.

Hence here it isn’t the plot in the foreground and a story full of actions, but the figures in it, and how they feel in each respective situation. Here are the characters in the foreground and here are the people who count.
The beginning was great and has pulled me immediately into story. Unfortunately Liese was sometimes too blue-eyed for me or seen a lot or wanted it to see what happened right before her eyes. Therefore I was also frustrated a little bit by her. In comparison to her, Frey was really great and I really liked him, but he also made me desperate with his caring and thinking always first of Liese and his very slow approach to her. He has fulfilled all her wishes, particularly concerning their two friends Ben and Carmen and this was really annoying, and I would have said Ben my opinion about him much earlier.

In spite of all, it was a honey-sweet story which I could read fast and easy. The writing style was sensitive and written detailed figuratively, which I really liked and has suited the story very well.
Unfortunately it was just a short-story and hence it wasn’t very long and just a short read. But I will read again something of this great and sensitive author.

All in all:
A good idea and a sugar-sweet transformation, which could have been longer! A short-story for romantic hearts. ♥

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Diese Kurzgeschichte handelt von Liebe, Freundschaft, großen Gefühlen aber auch von Verlust, Trauer und Vergebung – und zwar sich selber.
Daher steht hier auch nicht die Handlungen und eine actionreiche Geschichte im Vordergrund, sondern die Firguren darin, und wie sie sich in der jeweiligen Situation fühlen. Es sind die Menschen, die hier zählen.

Der Beginn war toll umd hat mich sofort in die Geschichte gezogen. Liese war mir aber leider teilweise zu blauäugig und hat vieles nicht gesehen oder verdrängt, was vor ihrer Nase passiert ist . Daher war ich auch manchmal etwas frustriert wegen ihr. Frey war im Vergleich dazu wirklich toll, aber auch er hätte mich fast zur Verzweiflung getrieben mit seiner Vorsicht und langsamen Annäherung an Liese. Auch das er ihr alle Wünsche erfüllt hat, besonders im Bezug auf die beiden Freunde Ben und Carmen, war störend, und ich hätte diesen Ben schon viel früher die Meinung gesagt.

Trotz allem war es eine honigsüße Geschichte, die man schnell und einfach lesen kann. Der Schreibstil war sensibel und eingehend bildlich geschrieben, hat mir sehr gut gefallen und war auch sehr passend.
Leider war es nur eine Kurzgeschichte und daher war nicht lange etwas da zum Lesen. Aber ich werde sicherlich wieder etwas von dieser tollen und einfühlsamen Autorin lesen.

All in all:
Eine gute Idee und zuckersüße Umsetzung, die gerne länger hätte sein können! Ein Kurzgeschichte für romantische Herzen. ♥

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Auch in Schicksalsrad konnte mich die Geschichte überzeugen und ich habe das Buch innerhalb von nur zwei Tagen verschlungen. *hach*
Mir ist aufgefallen, dass Andrews Schreibweise flüssiger zu lesen ist und mir hier insgesamt ihr Schreibstil besser gefallen hat; so als hätte sie sich nun richtig eingeschriebenen. Also hier eine positive Entwicklung!

Aber dennoch bleibt der Grundton der gleiche, der mich in den anderen Bänden bereits gefesselt hat und auch der Handlungsverlauf ist so aufreibend und spannend wie zuvor. In diesem Teil begleiten wir Kaldar, der für den Spiegel einen Auftrag übernimmt, der sich wieder gegen die Hand richtet und auf den es auch Kaldar, als Rache für Murids Tod im zweiten Teil, abgesehen hat. Durch mehrere überraschende Begebenheiten, werden in diesen Auftrag auch George, Jack und Gaston hineingezogen, was ich sooo klasse fand. Aber wir lernen auch neue Figuren kennen, wie zum Beispiel die liebreizende Audrey, die mir gefallen hat, aber auch die böse Helen.

Die Charaktere im Buch waren alle zusammen sehr liebenswert und das ist auch der große Pluspunkt bei Andrews Büchern, dass die Figuren so sympathisch sind und man sie bald sehr gerne hat. Wie auch hier Kaldar, der durch sein spitzbübisches Grinsen und intelligenten Witzeleien punkten. Audrey ist eher am Boden geblieben und steht mutig für sich ein – verbal aber auch mit Körpereinsatz.
Das George und Jack ebenfalls mit von der Partie waren und nun vier Jahre älter sind, als im ersten Teil, hat mir sehr gut gefallen, weil ich die beiden einfach liebe. Daher war es auch nett, neben den Sichtweisen von Kaldar und Audrey, auch Jacks Sichtweise zu lesen. Und ich hoffe sehr, dass Andrews auch noch einen Teil für George und Jack schreiben wird. *Daumen drücken*

Bisher konnte ich nur loben und es war auch ein gutes Buch – keine Frage – besonders für Fans der Reihe. Aber dennoch war Teil eins bisher immer noch der Beste und das ist nicht nur meine Meinung, sondern das habe ich auch von anderen gehört.
Für mich liegt es daran, dass ich Liebesbeziehungen in Büchern brauche und wenn es wie hier für Erwachsene ist, dann hat man auch gewisse Erwartungen diesbezüglich. Aber nur Teil eins konnte mich in diesem Punkt zufrieden stellen. Hier entwickelt sich die Beziehung von Kaldar und Audrey extrem langsam und wenn etwas passierte, dann immer nur total kurz, mal ein Kuss oder so. Und der Höhepunkt der beiden war fast erst gegen Ende und auch hier nicht in dem Ausmaß, der wünschenswert gewesen wäre. Schade
Daher war dieser Punkt derjenige, der mich am meisten gestört hat.

Außerdem war es für mich unnötig auch Kapitel aus der Sichtweise der Feinde zu schreiben. Obwohl es hier weniger oft war wie in Teil zwei.

Im nächsten Band kommt Richard an die Reihe und ich bin neugierig, was uns erwarten wird und hoffe, dass auch in seinem Buch wieder die vorherigen Figuren eine Rolle spielen werden, wenn auch nur kurz, wie hier George, Jack, Gaston, Cerise, William, Rose und Declan. Es ist immer wieder toll und eine riesige Wiedersehensfreude für mich.

German Cover:
Ich finde das englische Cover total schlecht gemacht und die Gesichter entsprechen überhaupt nicht meinem Bild von den Figuren. Hingegen sind bisher die deutschen Covers immer sehr ansprechend gestaltet, wobei ich es aber schade finde, dass nun von der Farbe Blau/ Lila auf Geld/ Gold gewechselt wurde. Passt meiner Meinung nach nicht so gut zu den anderen zwei Vorgängern. *schade*

All in all:
Ein guter dritter Teil, der vom Stil ähnlich wie seine Vorgänger ist und wieder mit zahlreichen Actionszenen und spannender Handlung trumpfen kann. Trotzdem reicht er leider nicht an den ersten Band heran.

My thoughts about it:
Right from the first pages on I could see that Day doesn’t empathize much on the current stylistic writing manners. Her formulations are all extremely exaggerated and drips with adjectives that often I had to shake my head. Don’t get me wrong, in general I’ve nothing against adjectives or I’m also not the same opinion like Stephen King, that every author should delete most of the adjectives/ adverbs … but if you read Day’s book, then you see again, what King meant with that and you also acknowledge, how uncreative Day used them and you notice the bad writing style of her.
Luckily soon I got dragged into the story and also into the life of Ana… ups, sorry – I meant Eva. Therefore you could try to ignore the writing style, even if it hasn’t always worked.

But also the plot and the idioms were not exactly brilliant. And several times I had to ask myself ‘where is here the plot?’, because after the second or third encounter of Ana Eva and Christian Gideon, it was only just a see-saw between them. One moment they had the best, most unrestrained sex on God’s earth and in the next something happens, so that Eva becomes sad/ disappointed/ sour and simply runs away without saying a word. And then Gideon runs after her like a well educated Golden Retriever/ apologizes to her/ calms her and the endless loop begins/ ends again with the greatest sex you can imagine. This goes on through the whole book – until I was only frustrated and didn’t know what to do against it.

Furthermore instead of adding more action in the story, Day rather described which clothes Eva, Gideon and Cary wore every day. And here I mean really – always and everything! Okay, I also like stylish clothing, but this was a ‘tick’ too much. Also I didn’t get a lot of insights of Eva’s work, which she has started just in the beginning, because everything was described only very short and also the communication with other characters, except with Gideon, was rare. So that, as already said, there were only arguments/ misunderstandings and sex scenes in this book. That’s all!

But regardless of everything, it was also not so, that I didn’t want to read on. To declare, in spite of all my criticism, the book has also pulled me in its spell and above all, also the characters didn’t let me go any more, so that I was tied up wiht them and I simply wished them a happy end.
Even if I had my problems with Eva, I was a fan of Gideon and from the first page on I’ve fallen in love with Cary. He is great and has amused me through the whole book, which has made it lighter for me. Unfortunately he is also a relationship-destroyer like Eva, but I hope that will change in the following books and that he will be even more present in the story.

After all the emotional rollercoaster and constant up and downs, we finally got a pleasant ending for which I was happy and which, to be honest, would have also been enough for me. I would be satisfied with it, if the story of Gideon and Eva has ended now or okay, some little more background information would have been nice too, but all in all, it would have been better to put everything in one book, at most into two (but not in three).
But because nowadays everything goes in the direction of trilogies, we also get here another two books from Day and I’m skeptical what she’ll still present us of Eva and Gideon in two further parts. I’m very doubtful whether it’ll functions for me or not and I fear that it’ll be a duplication of the first book, only with other conflicts, but from the style exactly the same. But we’ll see.

German Cover:
I like it from the style and it fits also perfectly to the contents of the book. Well selected and I think it’s great that the English Hardcover version was used.

All in all:
Seldom I‘ve liked parts in a book so much and at the same time others convinced me so little. I still want to read book 2, but if this won’t be better, then I’ll stop to read this series.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Gleich von den ersten Seiten an, konnte ich feststellen, dass Day nicht viel wert auf die gängigen, stilistischen Schreibweisen legt. Ihre Formulierungen sind allesamt äußerst übertrieben und triefen von Adjektiven, dass ich oft nur noch unglaublich den Kopf schütteln konnte. Versteht mich nicht falsch, generell habe ich nichts gegen Adjektive oder bin auch nicht der gleichen Meinung wie Stephen King, dass man als Autor die meisten löschen sollte … aber, wenn man das Buch von Day liest, weiß man wieder wie er es meint und bemerkt durch die unkreative Verwendung dieser, den schlechten Schreibstil der Autorin.
Zum Glück wird man bald in die Geschichte und in das Leben von Ana …ups, sorry – ich meine Eva – hineingezogen. Somit kann man versuchen den Schreibstil zu ignorieren, auch wenn es nicht immer klappt.

Aber auch der Plot und die Wendungen waren nicht das ‚Gelbe vom Ei‘. Und ich musste mich mehrmals fragen ‘wo ist hier die Handlung?‘, denn nach der zweiten oder dritten Begegnung von Ana Eva und Christian Gideon, war es nur noch ein reines hin und her der beiden. Einen Moment hatten sie den besten, hemmungslosesten Sex auf Gottes Erden und in der nächsten passiert etwas, dass Eva wieder sauer/ enttäuscht/ traurig wird und einfach ohne zu reden davon läuft. Und dann läuft ihr Gideon wie ein brav erzogener Golden Retriever hinterher, entschuldigt sich/ beruhigt sie und die Endlosschleife endet/ beginnt wieder mit dem tollsten Sex, den man sich vorstellen kann. Das geht das ganze Buch so – von vorne bis hinten – bis ich nur mehr frustriert war und nicht wusste, was ich dagegen machen soll.

Hinzu kommt, dass Day statt mehr Handlung in die Geschichte zu bringen, lieber jeden Tag beschrieben hat, welche Kleidung Eva, Gideon und Cary tragen. Ich meine hier wirklich immer und alles! Okay, ich mag auch schicke Klamotten, aber das war doch einen ‚Tick‘ zu viel. Auch bekam man nicht viel Einblick in Evas Arbeit, die sie neu begonnen hat, denn das wurde alles nur kurz nebenbei angeschnitten und auch die Kommunikation mit anderen Figuren, außer mit Gideon, war rar. Sodass, wie gesagt, nur Streitereien, Missverständnisse und Sexszenen im Buch zu finden waren. That’s all!

Aber trotz allem, war es auch nicht so, dass ich nicht weiterlesen wollte. Denn zugegeben, trotz aller Kritik, hat mich das Buch in seinen Bann gezogen und vor allem die Charas ließen mich nicht mehr los, sodass ich trotzdem gefesselt war, weil man sich einfach ein glückliches Ende für sie wünscht.

Auch wenn ich meine Probleme mit Eva hatte, war ich ein Fan von Gideon und von der ersten Seite an, habe ich mich in Cary verliebt. Er ist toll und hat mich das ganze Buch über erheitert und es für mich aufgelockert. Leider ist er genauso ein Beziehungszerstörer wie Eva, aber ich hoffe, das ändert sich noch in den folgenden Bändern und dass noch mehr von ihm kommt.

Nach der ganzen Gefühlsachterbahnfahrt und den ewigen auf und abs, haben wir doch noch ein angenehmes Ende bekommen mit dem ich zufrieden war und bei dem ich ehrlich sagen muss, damit hätte es für mich auch gereicht. Ich wäre zufrieden damit, wenn nun die Geschichte von Gideon und Eva geendet hätte bzw. okay, etwas mehr Hintergrundinformation hätte dann schon noch sein können, aber alles im allem, wäre ich dafür gewesen, es mit einem Band (höchstens zwei Bänden) zu belassen.
Aber da heutzutage alles in Richtung Trilogien geht, bekommen wir auch hier noch zwei weitere Bände von Day geliefert und ich bin überfragt, was sie uns noch von Eva und Gideon präsentieren möchte. Ich bin sehr skeptisch, ob es für mich funktionieren wird, und ich fürchte, dass eine Wiederholung des ersten Teils ansteht, nur eben mit anderen Konflikten, aber vom Stil her genau das gleiche. Im März kommt der zweite Teil auf Deutsch raus und spätestens dann wissen wir Bescheid.

German Cover:
Gefällt mir vom Stil sehr gut und passt auch perfekt zum Inhalt des Buches. Gut gewählt und ich finde es schön, dass die englische Hardcover-Version übernommen wurde.

All in all:
Selten haben mir Teile in einem Buch so gut gefallen und konnten mich andere dafür gleichzeitig so wenig überzeugen. Ich lese zwar noch Band 2, aber wenn diese nicht besser wird, werde ich diese Reihe abbrechen.
